I moved to Omaha NE. Because of a job I really Loved, and My Husband to be....I'm 52 and starting over in life. In July 2008 I hurt may back at work, but thought it was not a big deal, so I didn't say anything and try ed to care for it on my self..finding out worst then I knew. I contacted work. workmen s comp. started but would not pay for the bills. I've paid some on credit cards and have a Lawyer but bills are high. I knew that this would happen, and why I try ed to care for this myself, for I loved my job. I was not there because of the money, but the kids. Now with no job and AIG only giving me $5.00 a week and bills getting bigger. What to do. called credit card company and there will not help...My credit hurting now no job and no why to pay. What to do. Lawyer feels even if he can get AIG to pay...with bills and Lawyer fee's that will not help with credit card bills and the fact of now out of work, the job I loved. and not been able to find new work.....what to do? Today we watch the inaugural speach together and students took notes. When then meet and listed the issues that President Obama spoke about in his speech. Tomorrow students will add two bullets to each issue, one telling how they feel about the issue and how it relates to them and the other making suggestions. The end result will be our students writing President Obama to give advice on the issues that are important to them. My fifth grade team has planned a similar prompt for our students. Many of us are suffering the effects of high fuel prices, food, health care, job loss, ect. In this whole mess I question, where was the bailout for the airline industry post 9/11? I think it comes down to saving the union run businesses, especially those who have financially supported our wonderful government officials. No offense to anyone, but God forbid the UAW dissolves! Our area has laid off thousand of employees, and all given notice before the holidays. It is kind of like a kick in the teeth. Their only bailout... a measly unemployment check. I don't know about everyone, but those of us with student loans are screwed. No possible bailout. The only way to get relief is to have the lenders freeze payments for 6 months, at the cost of all the interest accruing and outrageous fees to have the payments deferred. For everything else there is bankruptcy. There is an auto dealer in my area running a very offensive commercial. The owner claims that banks are calling them now, and have oodles of cash to lend customers. Touting that we better take it before it goes back to Paulson. What an idiot... it is not Paulson's money it belongs to and comes from all tax payers. Needless to say, if you are in Upstate New York you may qualify for a car loan. I am a hard working American suppourting not only my wife and myself but childern with childeren. My credit is not good enough for a loan on a car and they turn me down, well my tax dollar is not to be waisted on them. Who is going to bail me out when I go under for good.
